10th planet hate..

I was just curious.. but why does 10th planet seem to be so hated by all the other jiujitsu schools? I feel like everytime i mention anything about 10th planet at the gym i go to the instructor instantly has to bad mouth it. It's like there is some personal vendetta against it. And that goes for most brazilian jiujitsu practitioners that dont study 10th planet. I just dont get it. there's 10th planet reps winning gold in tournaments all across the nation.. yet somehow, even though the style is showing up on the top of the rankings in just about any tournament they enter, its still looked at as.. uneffective? im not even sure if thats the word. its more of just a refusal to hear or learn anything about it. I just dont get it. And then you hear the same thing "eddie got lucky against Royler".. what? for 9 minutes? i just dont understand what caused this personal grudge that everyone seems to have against it. Is this just no more than the whole "nobody wants to admit there style isnt the best?" but still.. i dont see why people cant train both. anyway.. this is turning into a rant. so back to my question.. did eddie do something to piss someone off somewhere or what is the deal?

As has been said Eddie's view of the Gi has pissed off some people but also many Brazilians see BJJ as only their domain as well so it could seen as a territorial thing for some. Also as Kevin Green said people fear change too.

Another big thing I feel is something an instructor I heard say once. He said Eddie Bravo and his 10th planet gang promote the idea that 'drugs are cool' and that they are a bad influence on kids. So they are demonising 10th planet for this and creating any excuse to badmouth it and ignore any evidence it is actually very effective. A very stupid and immature approach. Any open minded and logical individual can see through all the bullshit and won't be put off so easily by the haters. As soon as I heard the theory behind 10th planet I was sold and if you understand the truth behind weed it's obvious it should be legalised or at the very least not put into the same category as the harder stuff. I certainly have never seen Eddie say 'yeah kids do Heroin and Coke and be cool like us!' Ridiculous!!!

Haters are typically close minded and limited indivduals in my opinion.
