    Eye Protection. Please Help!

So I have an eye disease that progressively thins my corneas.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratoconus

My doctors put a scare into me that I could really hurt my eyes or even lose them much more easily because of how thin and fragile they are.

So I stopped training for almost 2 years.. but I just love the game so much that I said fuck it and have jumped right back in.

I know the risks but a finger in the eye is not uncommon. And where I'm legally blind I'm more likely to run into a finger then the average. I try to reduce the risk by rolling with my eyes closed as much as I can.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of some sort of protective eye wear you could use?

I know that there are eye/face protectors that some basketball players use, but they might not be durable enough to stay on your face during grappling. This is just a guess, but maybe some sort of swim goggles might be a nice DIY way to make eye protectors.

I thought about swim goggles but they're so close to the eye that they'd probably get pushed or slip onto the eye. I think you would need something that goes over the brow and below the cheek and is just flat to the face, so if it moved a bit wouldn't matter. Something like the lens in a ski goggle.

i'd go with it, it looks crazy awesome

I would go, grapple head gear, with a nylon face mask underneath, and with tinted goggles. go full leggings and rash guard so you can look like snake eyes. rock that shit.

Wear some basketball goggles and the good things about them is that if you got the money you could get your prescription on them. Hope this helps and dont worry about losing your sight their are always transplants you can get. Science is so advanced today.

I agree, if its actually for safety to help you continue your passion, rock that head gear. Looks stupid, but like Rich Franklin in pink shorts, if you can back it up, stupid is pretty cool

Buy the mask, embrace the mask, become the mask... standing out like that will get you known. You'll become a character and a fixture on the local grappling scene and like Weebo said, if you got the skills to kick ass you'll become the stuff of local legends and folklore.
