Love New York Hate Mission Control

Once i get that arm trapped, probably my highest percentage set up for OMOPLATAAAAAAAA! Triangles from there are cool too.

But man, i never get anywhere from MC. I cant even control them long enough to get to crackhead. And Im probably top 4 most flexible at my school.

So here's what I do: If I can zombie from closed guard or even open guard I will. If thats not happening I just play open guard and pull down on the head.

    Any profound thoughts?

From closed gaurd if the guy is playing tight and nothing is working alot of times i will just try a hip bump sweeep ..I really dont plan on sweeping them unless i do,but when you do the hip bump sweep they will wrap thier arms around your body to defend .When they do this it leaves you a split second or two to go right too new york.

Lou: Yes I am as well as stopping them from backing their head out of my mission control leaving them with control of both my ankles and a good shot at passing into sidemount.

Robert: Yea i use the hip bump sweep, and fail a fair amount too, but its awesome cause its almost 100% safe to fail, transitions into butterfly guard, new york as you said, or a triangle, OR AN OMOPLATAAAA =)

If guys are backing out of mission control you might not be squeezing tight enough if you're squeezing and guys are still backing out you can take the foot off the hip and put it around the back for better control but then you're more vulnerable to the stack.
Also, when you're squeezing tight and a guy tries to back out the armbar is very available.
