Moving forward, I have a strong feeling that there will be 1000 percent more scrutiny on any potential moon. If you can't provide verifiable proof of an BJJ rank or experience, then you will/should have to work with a Moon instructor to certify you first. I have had a guy local to me looking into becoming a moon try to tell me he was a Purple, but couldn't verify it. So be ready to prove your credentials, or be humble to enter as a blue belt.

I'm nodding in agreement right now. Poor imitations or counterfeits undermine the whole system and degrade the hard work, time, and effort of those dedicated to the system. In the same way should counterfeit money be passed around, a result will be that people will begin to question its value. It is imperative that individuals seeking the best quality instruction look to the certified instructors for guidance along the journey. 10th Planet has a very unique and special group of folks nurturing what we all love to do. Observe and ask questions; they're very welcoming.

I agree 100% John, besides if you are a purple or brown belt you should be able to: A- back it up with some creds or B- you will be able to see it in their technique. I know ranking is important, but I still know what I know without a belt around my waist!!!!

Being a poor imitation is my greatest worry. If I get beasted I dont mind, thats just learning to me. But if I fight with a 10th Planet patch on and discredit it because I make the technique look weak due to poor delivery, that would upset me. We are a three hour flight across an the Tasman sea from the nearest moon and our gym is poor and so is everyone in it.

So, I pledge to do my utmost to do 10th Planet and its practitioners credit when I put it to use and to utilise all the legitimate 10th Planet resources to their fullest. To ensure we are on the right track I will make sure to post videos of of our training and rolling to be critiqued.
