O.o my vote would be to post it up.. if you can only win a match because your opponent doesn't know what to expect.. then at least for me its not very gratifying at all and almost just depressing.

I also second what Scott said but sadly I haven't had the luxury of experiencing it for myself yet... if someone knew my strengths and or my go to move.. and they were a skilled opponent(everyone probably has their own opinion on what that is).. and I still was able to secure the sub etc.. Then that is something I'd actually be proud of.(I'm a little over competitive though and its added a decent amount of stress over the course of my life lol :P)

in the Southeast, there is only a small group of legitimate people. At some point or another, EVERYONE will know my stuff. I plan on delaying that as much as possible.

As long as you are constantly evolving and growing your submission base it shouldn't be an issue. If you only have 1 or 2 money moves your going to have trouble sooner or later anyway and would need to expand your game. I usually take all videos off of youtube a month before a tourney just to be safe...and then post them back when done but i really dont think it matters that much. Just keep growing your aresnal..stay unpredictable and attack attack attack....

I think if someone's worried about what you're going to do enough to study tape on you, you should feel honored and provide as much tape as you can. If they devote time studying you, and you devote the same time developing new skills and strategies, I think you'll have the advantage. I wish i had the hagakure handy for a quote... but the ancient writings of samurai and Sun Tzu's art of war both have some important lessons about such an attitude.

I think posting your jiu jitsu video could only help. You'll get tips from your 10thP buddies and even if one of your future opponents sees your videos it will only provide a greater challenge and in the end thats what competition is about right?

An mma fight is different though..... They could set up strategies depending on your tendencies, so I would agree with not posting those.

This is exactly how I feel. I want feedback, but I dont want an opponent to watch my videos and study me, learn my money moves and teach it to their gym.
