A NON RACIST Observation - The Super Athlete

Ok, so I wanted to post this right after Bones won the title but I didn't because it seemed too dangerously close to racist, but I heard Eddie touch on it on the Rogan podcast so I figured I'd go for it now.

So to me, it seems that the sport of MMA is going to go the way of football and basketball in that the giant super athletic black man will eventually dominate the sport. I'm not saying that because I'm racist (im not), it's just a fact that black people have the genes and the background to be able to become those super athletes. We saw it in football and basketball, two speed/size/strength centric sports... at first it was mixed whites and blacks, and slowly the black people realized their potential and took over. We see the same thing happening in MMA with the rise of Jon Jones, Phil Davis, Anthony Johnson, Melvin Guillard, Alistair Overeem, Melvin Manhoef, and even Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans to some extent.

Now please do not get me wrong, I am not at all saying this is a bad thing, in fact, I consider it to be a very good thing! It's very simple, it's Darwinism at it's best, Natural Selection, survival of the fittest, they have the ability to become the biggest, fastest, and strongest, and that makes for the most exciting fighter. And when you get two of those super athletes in the octagon at the same time, BOOM... Anthony Johnson vs. Melvin Guillard ...BOOM... Jon Jones vs. Alistair Overeem... BOOM! Super fights with two super athletes! That's the future of MMA. That's what we have to look forward to. Personally, I can't wait! :-D

So what do you guys think? Will MMA get taken over by the super athletic black man, or will they continue to merely be scattered amongst the eclectic competition we have today? I'd love to hear people's opinions on this.

Again, I'll reiterate one last time to be certain I get the point across... I AM NOT RACIST! I do not want this post to be construed as racist. I am merely making an observation and exploring that observation. I love black people and I love what they contribute to sports. Thank you.

Lol just kidding. It's an interesting observation that I'm sure most people have made... It's really hard to say what it's gunna be like in the future. There's only a few black guys in hockey and it's been around for over a hundred years, but maybe that's just a popularity thing...

College wrestling is not dominated by Black athletes, and an NCAA wrestling background is such a huge edge in MMA. Cogito ergo sum, MMA will mimic the ethnic and racial trends of college wrestling.

I was wondering about this actually and I was going to say something, but I really know next to nothing about the ethnicitys in college wrestling. I was just thinking about dudes like Ryan Bader, Frankie Edgar, guys like that who have good wrestling backgrounds.

Try this.. look at sports with a high entry fee (Hockey) versus those with little to no initial cost (basketball) and think about the ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the majority of the people who participate in such sports. Race is an arbitrary variable when you start looking at real factors such as financial access and break down genetic traits into specific speed, height, strength factors. Not all black people are fast but all fast people are fast. There is no need to group people by race especially when the generalization falls apart on an individual level and when we can just choose to look at raw genetic traits.

To be honest, I really don't know how it breaks down either, but from what I can tell, wrestling seems to be a pretty equal opportunity sport.
