When I said he hasnt faced an elite striker, he truly hasnt. Noons is effective, at his weight class. And Diaz still ate shots, which (as James Davis said) wont work againt Daley... Unless Nick can just take Daley down and hold him there for three rounds until Daley gasses out, then stands with him, he wont win a stand up war with Daley.

someone made an excellent point at mmafighting.com.....daley can be outboxed. I forgot how bad he looked in the thompson fight. It's not like daley is the end all be all on his feet. There are so many variables up in the air..but I do think this will be a fight of the year candidate.

I think we'll know how it goes down in the first minute. It's kind of like Diaz can win this thing running away unless he goes tough guy and sticks his chin out...which he always does.

oh... Club punch=sucker punch, blindside, sneak attack!! Yeah that whole mayhem rumble was really awkward... it looked like mayhem kinda came in as a joke/gimmick and then all the sudden Jake Shields shoves him away and people from every angle starts attacking him... In that picture, you can clearly see not only is Diaz throwing a punch but so is Shields... O.o

I would give the edge on the feet to daley, IF NOT for Diaz's incredible chin, cardio, reach, and persistence. And of course Diaz has an advantage on the ground.

Larkin looked really good, quick and accurate. Lookes like he was slowing down a little before the finish, but that easily could have been due to the fact that he was a last minute replacement for Ishii and didn't have a lot of time to get ready. MMA needs more strikers like that. How is his ground game? If a was his opponent I'd make him change that tassel skirt thing. I think Alessio Sakara and Melvin Manhoef wear something similar. I think it could get in the way if the fight went to the ground. A few of those loose strap/tassel things could flip up and cover his mid section and make it difficult to control him. But you're right, he's beast on the feet. I def wanna see him fight again.

This is the epitome of the club punch...mayhem isn't even paying attention to nick and he's lining up his shot because he knows he doesn't even see him. I grew up in Oakland....this is considered a full bitch move. It probably is ok in stockton...probably makes you a cool guy. In Oakland, this makes you a bitch

I like that Oakland has more evolved thugs.

Diaz trains his boxing with Andre Ward. Andre Ward = elite striker. Andre Ward > Paul Daley. Paul Daley has nothing in his tool box that can hurt Diaz, he's awful on the ground and the guy Diaz trains with hits harder, throws faster, has better tecnique, and better foot work. Diaz wins this fight everywhere and finishes by choking Daley's head off.
