Broke my hand but I'm still coming to HQ next week...

Nate and I have a trip planned to train at HQ for a week from April 11th - April 15th. Plane tickets bought, hotel and car rental all set up and I go and break my hand about 3 weeks ago.

I had to have surgery and they installed 2 screws in the bone. I've been busting ass trying to make sure it'll be as close to 100% as possible for training in LA. I go in for an xray this Friday to see how the healing is going and we leave on Monday to fly out west.

Wish me luck and I'll see all you HQ guys next week!

Enjoy your time down at HQ. I went two weeks ago and had a blast! Sorry to hear about your hand though, hopefully you will heal up fast.

Thanks Cookie, If it's not 100% I'll definitely take you up on that offer. I rolled lightly the other day and it felt pretty good but then tightened up and got stiff the next day.

Eric - I like the MMA gloves idea...I'll bring a set just in case

It actually broke while defending a guard pass. I sat up into my opponent right at the same time he was dropping his knee to attempt to cut through my guard. My hand (pinky knuckle) met his knee at a high rate of speed and my hand lost the battle. Just a complete freak accident. Happened on a Thursday during a private lesson I was giving him and I refused to believe it was broken until my girlfriend finally convinced me to go to Urgent Care that following Monday.

Original X-ray showed the bone had broken at an angle and the two halves slid passed each other about a 1/4 of an inch. Doctor told me 4 weeks for the bone to heal and then 2 weeks of physical therapy. It'll be 3 weeks and 4 days of healing time on Monday when I land in LA. Hoping that's enough time.
