    GSP vs Jake Shields

Who's the nr 1 guy GSP should roll with to prepare for Jake Shields?

Can you even prepare for a guy like Jake, or should GSP only concentrate on his own game and utilize his strenght as a complete MMartist? We all saw GSP train at 10thplanetjj before the Koschek fight. Has he shown
up at Eddies center at all this time? not for tickeling playah

    sry for poor english.

GSP is FAR, FAR, more well-rounded than Shields. Additionally, GSP's overall conditioning is better as well. I would say his wrestling is at least as good, striking is light years ahead of Shields, athleticism is greater, and his jiu jitsu probably on a par with Shilds. GSP trains at Renzo's place in NYC all the time and Renzo and Danaher are great coaches. If Shiels performs like he has recently, it won't be enought. I don't see Shields closing the gap in overall skill well enough, or quickly enough to get GSP. I really don't. I see GSP grinding him down, and possibly stopping him in the 4th or 5th round.

The only reason i think jake has better jj is because he got his blackbelt strictly nogi
Thats why he has a tattoo that says american jiu jitsu, gsp on the other hand got his with the gi. So i think jake has it easier for setting up submissions, they were both trained by gracies for most of their bjj career.
Gsp has takedowns yes, but i think his defense sucks, and jake will take him down, shields doesnt have as good as stand up but neither did matt serra really and gsp also had the reach advantage in that fight

Agreed. If Jake comes out like he did for the Martin Kampmann fight its going to be a short night for him. But the Chael Sonnen interview with Ariel Helwani made me think a bit different. Chael said Jake is working hard as fuck and for a guy like Chael to say that could mean two things, eighter he is promoting his short time training partner or he's just talking the same nonsense he is known for.
All speculations aside, this fight is going to be huge, 55k ppl in Canada and who knows, i see the fight end in so many different ways that im not even going to try pick or bet for this one. I just wish i could be ringside and see the fight! UFC in Sweden 2012 baby!
