    Nick Diaz to quit MMA?

    http://youtu.be/0870p1Tev3M

I would love to see more MMA fighters cross over to boxing & vice versa, Boxers to MMA. This would not only benefit both sports but the fighters as well, especially the MMA fighters because of the $ MONEY they could make in Boxing compared to MMA.

    Good Luck Nick.

He is not gonna quit mma, he is just trying to raise his value for a UFC contract. This is his only chance since he did not made the money that some fighters made that were less skilled and successful than him. If he gets a shitty contract and then gets crushed in the UFC or gets stuck behind Jake Shields, he is never gonna make the big bucks. By the way he does make about $150k plus sponsors per fight anyways so it is not like he is starving, he just wants a whole lot more.

he's looking at the money being an average boxer vs being an elite mma fighter and going wtf?!?!?! It may help his pay...but it will be nowhere near what an average boxer makes.

I know a guy who owns a boxing gym and is incorporating mma now. He said after a boxers first pro fight he usually makes enough money to pay for his licensing, insurance and everything for the year and gets some money to buy a new suit and take his girl out to the nicest restaurant in town. Something like 5 grand in cali. I know quite a few pro mma guys and they get like 250-500 their first fight. It also appears that because of the type of injuries boxers can avoid getting the 30-60 day suspensions and can turn around and fight in a week I believe...or 9 days..something like that.

But, we are talking a sport with 100 year history vs a relatively new sport with regard to sanctioning and establishing a fan base.

This could backfire bad. The UFC might tell him to fuck himself.

i'd hate to see him leave mma, but strikeforce knows he's been carrying them for a while, & if theres more money in boxing fuck it, you can't fight forever, & less entertaining plus extremely boring fighters have made more money, i ''can't knock the hustle''

Nick is just looking to re-do his Strikeforce contract. He won't leave MMA but he doesn't want to fight Woodley or Seffadine either. He wants elite fighters. Until he gets that, boxing pays more on average. Nick made 176k for his last fight though. That's not chump change. Nick is looking at GSP, if Jake can't get it done. It's already got a storyline behind it and it would be a big sell for the UFC. Don't be surprised if Dana feeds Nick a tough challenge in Strikeforce, to make sure he's ready for the big time. Strikeforce: Diaz vs Hardy!!!

Hardy is just a slower less explosive version of Daley, but with cool hair.
