rubber guard in a street fight

was just curious to know if any of you guys would use the rubber guard if you found yourself on bottom in a street fight?

if you can use rubber guard to catch someone in an armbar fast enough, you can break their arm and then worry about their friends coming to "kick you in the head". if its just one on one, i dont see why you wouldnt choose to use jiujitsu.

If its self defence and they know nothing or know lots, I would be getting he fuck out of there.

But if it was a fight, and I really didnt like them, I think that rubber guard, preferably finishing with gogoplata, would give me considerable pleasure. Thats speaking hypothetically, its not something I would be doing.

I would use it, hells yeah. Punching in a street fight with no protection on your hands is a mistake, that is a broken hand for sure! RG sets up submissions beautifully and I'm not afraid to choke a guy at all. I don't give a damn if he passes out or I break his arm. If it's one on one for sure, but one on two...I wouldn't even use jiu jitsu, I'd probably run. I'm always with friends, and most of my friends are fighters and martial artists. So we'd be the wrong crowd to fuck with anyway.

In 90% of street fights, first punch to the face wins, i avoid going to the ground in a street fight... as soon as the fight is inevitable and there's nothing you can do to avoid it, quick jab to the nose, trust me, their eyes tear up, they get all disoriented, chances are they will start swinging wildly so after the quick jab you need to shoot for a double leg and finish the fight on top however you feel is appropriate.

well growing up in newark nj ive been in many street fights and coming from a family of boxers standing with me was always a stupid move by the wanna be gangsters but was just wondering

Tough question!!!! Does he have a weapon on him. Who's going to help him! Too many factors to consider. If you can't avoid a street fight and must fight to get away. You must end the fight fast. Dirty fighting...groin shots,throat shots,eye attacks, hair grabbing or ripping , biting are all fair game on the street. You could be fighting for your life!!! I think being in any guard could be a big mistake, a risk I would avoid IF possible. If somebody had me in their guard in a STREET FIGHT I would grab their balls and squeeze and twist until they passed out! Beat that submission Fucko!!!NO MERCY...NO RULES!

I have used it, but was at a party where a guy got drunk and fortunately I knew most everyone there or it could have turned into a stomp fest. I fell to new york and pulled London, then I backfisted him a couple of times to let him know that he should quit before I got pissed
