i think if we see a submission on the ground it will come from shields but if the fight ends by strikes on the ground it will be in gsp's favour

and i wouldnt say that their accomplishments in grappling mean nothing as its gives an indication of who has the better skill level on the ground with submissions, which is what this thread is about, jake shields has submitted 6 of his last ten opponents and the other 4 were beaten by getting out grappled and punched in the face until either the ref got tired of keeping count or the judges gave the decision. gsp has submitted only matt hughes in his last ten fights, the rest have been decisions through having superior wrestling and tko's from strikes on the ground
