MJJ = Machado Jiu Jitsu.
I don't know if it's an official style of BJJ, but I've heard (some) people that train at Machado schools refer to their style as MJJ.

there's this guy i know, his name is eddie somethingorother, he's a black belt from a machado jiu jitsu school.

And I also heard about BJJ/FJJ where the lineage doesn't involve someone of the Gracie family:
Mitsuyo Maeda > Luis Franca > Oswaldo Fadda > Henrique Machado > Ronaldo Jacare Souza

Some students refer to their style as BJJ others as FJJ (Franca/Fadda Jiu Jitsu)

yes. you are right. maeda had other students in addition to the gracies. and they too have past down their jiu jitsu knowledge.

I know that MJJ = BJJ, but I said that I have heard students refer to their JJ as MJJ. But in defence they were blue belts, so maybe it was just some jesting to come over as being "special".
For me it's all BJJ with just two flavours: gi and no gi.
