need help after clearing the neck!!

I've been rolling with some Gracie Barra guys as of late. a white belt(six years of training on and off) a blue belt and a purple belt. It's been great fun and good way to learn. But when I'm rolling with the blue belt(the only guy im actually able to put in mission control) I get the hand to the mat, clear the neck, and as soon as I put the arm back, he sucks his head to the mat opposite side of the leg. I dont know what to do after he does that. please help!

I'd say go to Perpendicular Jiu Claw.

so you mean he stops you from clearing the neck? Rescue dog is a good option. Or just be a dick and really dig that elbow into his temple

alright im in chill dog with the left leg, he turns out a tad to my right side and puts his head to the mat and keeps tight to my body, basically only leaving a omoplata, which his defenese is sick at.

ya go to perp jiu claw it gives you more control than parallel in my opinion. If he rolls work on controlling that so you can get that sweep. Or you can work on when he rolls you roll as well and roll him right back into a omaplata. Just some food for the emperor.

can you blame him? hes SICK AT IT! always play your strength, its not like hes gonna GIVE YOU the position sometimes you gotta force/take it, if hes putting his head on the mat, why arent you pushing/forcing his elbow back onto you? lol?

Im sort of with Brent on this one. Where are you trying to go after clearing the neck? And can you get to invisible collar, despite his head positioning? I'd probably try to get to the stock and play your options there.
