Sup guys . I'm new to the forum and interested in beginning jiu jitsu. Any recommendations for a newcomer. Also if anyone knows of a gym to go to in the springfield, il area would help me out alot. thnx

I go to school at Bradley in Peoria so I'm in the same boat. Theres not much around here at all but i THINK there's a gracie barra school in springfield...but that's all i know of. Right now I'm just training with some guys at the school's athletic center but it's not that great as you could imagine. I wish there was a 10th Planet gym around here lol

Ya having a 10th planet around here would be great. I live about a half hour south of springfield in a little ass town. I feel like a blind squirrel anyways. I am def interested in starting jiu jitsu training, but dam this area is not best to start out im a learning.

No it's really not unfortunately. The area is only recently beginning to get into the mma scene. If only we lived near chicago or st. louis...unfortunately we are stuck in between lol.
