    new to jiu jitsu

ok so here is my story and some questions i have first i have no belt color because i don't start till Monday n i still haven't registered at the gym witch i will do on Monday( i have talked to owner via email ) i have token judo gymnastics and wrestling before as a child i quit during early teens i became a huge mma before any one else at my school or friends really watched some started quit a few stop because why do i wanna watch to sweaty men roll around w.e there not fans then i know all these people who think the sport it self is called UFC then i try telling them hey NFL is not the name of the sport football is. im from Canada and every one around me is a huge hockey fan i cant stand hockey no discipline at all fights penalty's not a big fan of breaking rules i watch every form of mma dream strike force k-1 when ever i can catch a jiu jitsu match ill watch it ok back to the point i have always loved jiu jitsu since i first seen it in UFC and fell in love with grappling with friends and i find im very flexible from gymnastics so i can pull rubber guard very easy since i can put both my feet behind my head my one friend who is a bit smaller then me and is a brown belt in karate im 6"3 200 pounds hes about 150 but im kinda out of shape because i had surgery n couldn't walk for 2 years and was stuck in a bed im not to good at hitting the bag and sparring but to me i like the fact jiu jitsu is like a game of chess and there's so many things to do i have caught a few of my friends in gogoplatas n couple triangle chokes when we grapple for fun i understand im new i have no ego i cant wait for Monday to see how it goes i do yoga and simple exercise that involve not lifting weights just using my buddy im working my way to hand stands i was wondering if any one has any videos or tips for a beginner of the sport i wish to become the best i possible can also i first heard about eddie bravo at UFC events n from fighters then joe rogan did his bas rutten pod cast (im dutch so im kinda a huge fan of any dutch fighter same as Canadians ) so i watched his podcast and all his old ones my favorites are the ones withs eddie joey or jason miller like the mma talk since then i have bin fascinated with the idea of annunakis and all that well that's all i got to say

ok on your first day wear
some basketball shorts or shit like that
and an old shirt you dont care for anymore
on your first day you can ask them all sorts of questions, and you may even wanna take up bjj as well with a gi! which is really fun in my opinion
over time if you like it you can get leggings, rashguards, and mma shorts as well

just sign up for 3 months...

if you want to keep doing it then keep doing it, if you come back asking about how it just feels like a futile grind then you probably thought that you were going to be "gifted". now that you know that you're not you are bummed out and realized that it will take a long, long time before you are good at jiujitsu, you became sad.

There's really no gray area after that. You either love it and live it as much as you can or you just make excuses for why you lost, why you missed a class, and eventually why you stopped.
