no gi jiu jitsu gear???

i am starting no gi jiu jitsu on Monday it says to wear gi pants and a long or shorts im wondering what kinda of short what fabric are most mma shorts made of i got some polyester shorts and im not sure if there what i would need or if i have to go out n buy new ones also i am looking for a cup n i come across hockey cups n baseball cups can either of these be used for jiu jitsu?

do u have a shit ton to spend?
go and buy some basketball shorts idk the fabric but that should be good for the first couple weeks
if u want to go big, you can go buy some underarmour, trust me you will want long sleeve so you dont get bacteria on your arms, also you may want to get wrestling headgear, so when you get thrown around you wont get cauliflower ears over time
