Well in MMA you (typically) have two active Martial Artists fighting who though they may not like eachother, there is still a degree of respect and honor.. On the streets it's typically always senseless and stupid fighting. Also, unfair fighting.

There is no such thing as a fair fight or a lucky punch.

A lucky punch can definitely land. In true self defense, of course there are no rules. The intensity of the fight and circumstances around it should dictate just how much damage to apply to one's opponent (lethal/non-lethal, etc.) However, fair fights absolutely exist. That's what MMA is. There are rules; break them enough and the fights over.

That chick that got kicked in the face got run through the gauntlet didn't she. That's the only way I'd ever beat a high level MMA fighter, no matter what weight class. Make them fight 3 or 4 people before me, have all their energy spent & then let me in it. LOL! That fight was crazy. They even had rounds. LOL!

Yes, that's exactly my feeling. It's in a controlled agreed upon setting. I guess I also am okay with it because there is a degree of safety for the fighters with a doctor, referee, etc. In a street fight, someone can pull a gun or knife randomly and make things get out of hand.
