I used to travel 48km (29 mi) three nights a week to get to training, in peak hour traffic too, a little over an hour each way. It taught me a really valuable lesson about overcoming obstacles. 20 miles really isn't all that far, and once you start doing it regularly you won't even notice the distance.
turn the commute in to another training session, that's what i did. I'd create cd's of training logs and play them in my car to and from training every night, or listen to them on my mp3 player. I've been at 10th Planet Melbourne for almost 2 years now and i still do that every night.
