    Only A Matter Of Days...

So my 10th Planet books and Dvd's are currently in the mail and on there way down under to my home and i'm starting to get really excited... i will finally understand what half these threads mean lol like crackhead control e.t.c i know they're moves and positions but i'll finally be able to start training the 10th planet systems and become one of the "in" crowd haha

really excited to take my jiu jitsu game to the next level... have any of you studying from home come up with a successful syllabus to maximize learning the systems? i'm thinking 3 moves a week drilled a thousand times over until absolutely perfect... (there is nobody else in my city who studies 10th planet) so i have a couple of friends who are learning with me but we are all newcomers! however all blue belts in gracie jiu jitsu

for example if i start at page 1 of the rubber guard.. obviously all the stretches 3 times a day if i go from technique 1 in order to the end is the book and dvd designed to flow in that manner?

Yeah, Been going through the Mastering the System DvD for a couple days now and it is way awesome. Haven't practiced Jiu Jitsu consistently yet. But I've done wrestling for a few years and was really dedicated and nothings sucked me in like Jiu Jitsu has.

Just had a club open up at this high school and we've had a Rafael Lovato Jr brown belt come in and show us some stuff so I was excited for that. Planning to go to the Salem Keizer Jiu Jitsu Academy asap and put in the time. Already noticing huge gains though. Working on my flexibility and my guard is improving since I'm mostly working from bottom and try and work on the principles. Working on defending passes and getting some sweeps down. Your def going to like some of the stuff on butterfly guard and transitions from half guard if thats the DvD your getting. ;D

The problem with being new is that you don't know what a "perfect technique" feels like. I still don't think I know what it feels like.

So most people stop drilling a move once it becomes repetitive and boring. This is why most people at the gym don't want to do reps and would rather roll.

dont think that you are the only one...i can almost guarantee that someone in your area trains, or WANTS to train 10PJJ.
are you on the map yet? noooooo
send me some contact info and ill add you. that way, if someone in your area wants to train, they can contact you
congrats on making the first steps, just a bit of warning...its addictive.

yer i love reps but i understand what your saying about "perfect technique" but i have been in contact with Frank Barca in Melbourne and am saving money to get down there and learn from him for a couple of weeks also getting the funds together to have him teach a seminar here so that way i will get an idea of where i need to be at

Thats awesome Ashley, I know that you are a blue belt already so Im sure you know this but when you watch the dvd's and use the books make sure to watch all the small details. Exact hand placement like grabbing the toes vs grabbing higher on the foot. The centimeters make a difference. Get yourself a hotbox going my friend. Like Kendell said I would bet there are some peeps in your area just waiting for some leadership and organization.
