I use to smoke a lot about 5 years ago ,But stopped after meeting my wife . Now I would almost be against trying to smoke cause of control and don't really know how it would affect me these days ... I'm at a totally different place on life's patch.

You should only do it when you want, nobody is forcing you and nobody is stopping you! But I do recommend you do it again at least once, especially with 5 years to get your tolerance levels way down. One will do you wonders

my partner who has been smoking heavily 10-15 cones a day since 13 she's now 27 and quit cold turkey about 7 months ago... only problem now is that the withdrawals are causing some serious health issues she's taking some heavy anti-anxiety pills and also has prescriptions for valium.... so after 5 years i think you should be happy about your success's with quitting e.t.c and congrats... i mean i'm not anti weed but i've been smoking it long enough it'd be nice to be able to quit

Ashley, do it. MJ is not addictive, it is however habit forming... There are no withdrawal's, physically or mentally. If you want to stop, keep that thought on the top of your head for 21 days and you should be done with said habit. As for your partner, she has simply traded vices. The prescription way is not the answer, but a major problem in itself. I know "personally" many cases of 20 -40 years of heavy smoking, quit cold turkey, no withdrawals... Seeing how it is naturally produced in our body, we always have a certain level of THC in us at all times It is used by every major system in our bodies ( Cardiovascular, Nervous system, etc) It is the only substance known to man to regrow brain cells among numerous other qualities. I could go on and on.....

Wow, very interesting perspective. Im 23 and started at 17, during a time when I was depressed. No tobacco use whatsoever. At first I liked to trip out on the highs, basically close my eyes and see colors and objects, and did it once and every so often.

In college I went to every day starting soph year, and maintained that frequency for 3 years. I began to do workouts and work high. I now smoke only joints, 5 times per week, usually after work, but occassionally waking and backing on the weekends.

For jiu jitsu, amen, i still go sober sometimes, but i was high before NAGA no-gi intermediate and won my first match down 5 points to nothing by OMOPLATA! Granted quite a few hours had passed between smoking and competing, but i didnt feel that previous sense of 'OH i fucked up' even though I got taken down and had my guard passed. Recover half, lockdown whip up, shoot a triangle, fail, OMOPLATA.

And in class, EASILY some of my best rolls high, not to mention many times learning and utilizing a move taught very very quickly. I have yet to read emperor wears no clothes, but am intrigued about the lung cleanser/expectorant aspect. Between weed and exercise, my asthma which had plagued me all through early school DISAPPEARDED. Completely. I wish there were more studies on this, all of the studies linking weed to cancer don't screen for tobacco so I can't apply them to me.

Anyone know of some good concrete research on the use of ONLY weed, smoked, on the throat and lungs? Hope this dialogue continues to add value to an awesome thread.

    Best,
    Doug
