    i agree here if we are just talking about Bruce in his era then he could hold his own but not todays BJJ

    Great interview. He never sparred and he wasn't a fighter. Being a great instructor doesn't translate into being a great fighter and vice versa. We see that today all the time (Greg Jackson for example).

    And all that about Bruce being too quick and what not. Ok.

    "Joe Lewis - Please, drop all the stuff you've heard. Martial arts is full of nonsense. Only believe what you have seen or can prove. Show me more than three real punches in a second and I will kiss your butt. ON film, Ali's jab took 7 frames to complete, and Sugar Ray's took 9 frames. A second of film takes 24 frames. Simple math guys. Three real punches per second and that is it. Less talk and more proof. Let's get in the ring and show off some of these secrets. They pay millions of dollars. That beats eating rice all your life and teaching martial arts forever anytime?"

    he wore a black belt cuz they let him. he was not a black belt . i will answer any questions. i did a in depth research report on the man for a project. he didn't even finish the wing chun school he studied at. he was good as chuck said . but to fight you have to fight. not make movies. common sense. i love him. but fighter is someone who fights right? not someone who trains martial arts and does movies. lee had the physical training to be anything he wanted. he wanted to make movies get rich and be famous. thats what he wanted
