I have a question. How does one predict a second round TKO or a third round submission? I mean I understand if someone says by KO or sub or decision but actually predicting the time it is going to happen? Not just here, lots of fighters when they give interviews also point out when the fight is going to stop. Is there some deep thinking behind this like ok, Guida is going to come really fast, Pettis is going to defend take downs the first couple rounds while peppering and bloodying guida, on the third guida is going to slow down and get sloppier, but he is going to take Pettis down, however due to exhaustion pettis is gonna sub him? Or they are shooting directly off the hip?

It comes from betting mostly. For example, in Vegas you can bet on almost everything
having to do with a sports match or fight. How many runs in what inning, amount of points
by field goal, rounds won, etc....including high payoffs in some cases if you could call a KO
    in round 2.

Now where those ideas come from...that's another story, just a prediction that isn't worth
much unless you got cash on it and and you hit it dead on the head. Otherwise it's kind of
like hitting a hole in one on the day you're out golfing by yourself.

lol Very good point. People just think they have magical powers I think. They imagine the fight play out in their head and then decide depending on their style and skills (kind of like the examples you gave). It's funny when people are confident about they're predictions though, really it's a game of chance and coincidence.
