Hope this helps:
(1) mission control, he grabs foot
Don't let him grab your foot. You should be holding your shin(not with your fingers but a curled hand). You should point your toes back towards your knee.
If you don't point your toes, you leave your foot flat, and for the taking.
(2) larger dude in half guard, he has head and arm
Cool.. I have the same problem sometimes. Here's a quick solution: Whip up to the same side of the locked leg.. He bases, and quickly turn the corner, for "good footwork" setup. Also raise your same side hand over your head thereby blocking his attempt to turn back into you.
(3) mounted escape vs a heavy person
I have two options for you:
A) Look at how Jeff Glovers escapes the mount using the deep half.
or-
B) put your hands under his pits and toss him to one side, making him base. This should give you enough space to fit one butterfly shield between his crotch. From there you can do whatevery you want.
