why is it ok too do intermeadiate no gi then do white belt gi but not reverse?

jiu jitsu is jiu jitsu gi or not. If your ranked blue no-gi & want to compete gi, you better get your gi game up & do blue. Gi isn't much different. Just more technical. no more slipping out of stuff.

If Gi is more technical for developing your escapes, then you argument would have to be the same for attacking with submission in No-Gi. If its "easier" to escape submission No-GI because they just "slip out" then Submission offense in No-Gi would require more technique to prevent your opponent from just "slipping out of stuff".

Therefore both sports are just as technical, just diffrent.

Eddie wears Gi pants & rash guards/leg sleeves etc..why? I believe for more grip so people don't "slip-out" right.lol The Gi slows the game make it more technical. You guys might as well grapple in the wrestling singlet quit putting clothes on & trying to imitate the Gi.lol

Brian does make a good point, considering the amount of "gi" that alot of "no-gi" guys wear to compete in. KNee braces, Ankle braces, and gi pants seem standard, that IMO is a heck of alot of cloth to be completely "no-gi" isnt it?

I honestly dont care which I do. Im loyal to 10th Planet & No Gi but if the only I can roll is to put the gi on Ill do it. Like I said I dont really care as long as I get to roll. Way I see it they are 2 different sports under the same concept. As far as wearing clothes in No Gi I wear tights under my shorts and a rashguard to not get mat herpes. Grip is a factor I try not to worry about. If he slips out then try something else thats the beauty of it. I hate rollin with guys that just wear shorts and that's it. Im one of the few who doesnt join the Gi vs No Gi Battle I just say F**ck It LETS ROLL!!!!!!!

Are you allowed to grip their knee brace? No-gi doesn't mean you have to roll naked!
