    Starting a new life

    I'm 21, unemployed and recently single from a 3 year relationship. I live in a city I love, a country I hate.

My dream was to make something of myself in Jiu Jitsu, but I'm unwilling to open a rival school to my current coach in Liverpool. I'm going to be getting a 5k payout from my grandmother's old house eventually which would pay off my debt and give me enough to last a couple of months in another country and look for a job.

I have a few places in mind, but the main two are Los Angeles and Amsterdam. I know how hard it is to get a job in LA and a place to live, and Amsterdam is the opposite.

I'd like to get a few opinions and a bit of help? I've always lived at home and I think it's time for me to make something of myself. I'd love to open a school in Amsterdam, it'd be a very fitting place for me and I'm pretty sure I could attract a lot of 10th Planeteers to do seminars.

    Pros of Amsterdam:
    • New City
    • Legal Weed
    • 1 hour from home
    • Easier to get a job
    • Cheaper

    Cons:

    • I know nobody
    • There's a Carlson Gracie Black Belt in Amsterdam
    • I don't speak Dutch
    • Finding students would be harder

    Los Angeles Pros:
    • I know a load of guys
    • I'd settle in pretty quickly
    • Better weed
    • The best possible place to train, HQ
    • Everyone speaks English...although Dutch people understood me better

    Cons:
    • Expensive to move
    • Visa necessary
    • Hard to get a job

I'm just at a crossroads in life, newly single and don't want to be stuck here forever. Help!

Depending on how hard it is to get citizenship and work, I would go to Amsterdam.
