I love Oliveira. Extremely dynamic striker and grappler.
MOST the time when there are illegal knees/eye pokes/groin shots, the most severe punishment is taking a point away. Maybe they would have called the fight, idk, but it seems to me like if they'd have stopped it at the point of the knee, Lentz would have got up, stood there for a few minutes (like all people who get illegally hit do, before they decide they want to keep fighting because that's what the fans want), then said he was ok to go and Oliveira would have finished him, just as he would have if he hadn't landed the illegal strike. The vast majority of the time there are illegal strikes, the fighter continues, even if the blow has damaged them to where it plays a part in them losing. That's just my observation from watching a lot of fights. It doesn't seem fair, and it's unfortunate, but that's how it usually works. There are times when they call the fight instantly, I'm not sure if this would have been one of those times, however.
