if you are a young healthy guy you can pull off 5 times a week easy just make sure to eat right, and do everything you can to keep your body from breaking down. so make sure you get enough protein and carbs or your body is not gonna respond well. also take some glucosamine and omega 3 to reduce inflamation keep cartilage lubed. if your body's feeling really sore fill up your bath with water, buy a bunch of ice from the store and take an ice bath. it reduces inflamation and helps remove the excess lactic acid from your muscles. Acai berries are great for keeping your body in optimal condition as they are full of antioxidants. If you like to jog try and do it in grass as it will keep your joints from wearing down over time.
