I was thinking the same thing. I am going to play around with it tonight in class and see if it's possible.
how did you go? i guess if you sank your arm deep enough into the lower of the back and really throw your hips into the forward motion it would work on a smaller/less wise opponent.... i'lll definately be looking to try this
I don't think wrapping an arm around their waist would work well. Maybe hooking their hip pocket? Or reaching down and grabbing their bottom arm?
I think a deep hip grip might actually work. It only needs to stay tight for a moment during the transition. Hell, you could get away with gripping their shorts if you do it fast enough.

i suppose if you let go of the shorts grip before the hand reaches the top of his body then it shouldn't be seen....but again this would be incredibly hard against a strong heavy opponent...i'm just searching for ways of maybe baiting them to try posture up and do half the work for you... still haven't figured out how though
I wonder how much of a battle there is getting your top leg free from their underhook? Would they let you go thinking that you are giving up the sweep?
