    Rubber guard

I have some questions about it due to my flexibility issues I am a dominate wrestler and jiujitsu fighter against many of my opponents I do not go to gyms to practice I watch a lot of submission 101 videos and Eddie bravos YouTube seminars I cannot do the locust stretch very well especially without my hands and I cannot (yet) touch my knees to the floor during a butterfly stretch will this effect my rubber guard game? I can however touch each foot to the opposite shoulder and behind my head I can do the transitions in rubberguard like to jui claw and so on of what I know will I need very much more flexibility (I def think so) and in what areas? can anyone answer that

Well I go to gyms for other things but not exactly juijitsu I learn from a trainer outside of his dojo and I spar and train whenever I get the chance

Sorry to say this but you aren't a dominant Jiu Jitsu fighter if all you do is watch YouTube videos. Go train at a gym. Your flexibiity will be sufficient but keep stretching that butterfly stretch.

Also, use your real name dude, it's in the rules when you sign up.

rubbber guard is money in the fucking bank. theres a few guys that can just stand up out of it though. then work your x guard. don't go duck hunting with a fishing pole. thats good advice. yeah use your real name adam cartwright.

OP, you should be flexible enough, for basic rubber guard at least. My flexibility is downright horrible and i can pull it off.
The really tough challenge is getting crackhead control and double bagger.

I do some MMA, and before that I did Shootfighting, now I'm in a Gracie Barra school. It's a small town, so sometimes the instructors move, and the schools shut down, and I find myself attending a new school.

Anyway, I've fallen in love with this system, got the books, and I use the techniques in sparring. I never know what's going to be taught in class, so I prefer focusing on 10th planet techniques. (And I really prefer no gi, I'm clueless with a gi on, and it frustrates the hell out of me. I'm going to learn it though, it's a bit like using clothes as a self defense weapon, and I can dig that)

As I have the books, it gives me a roadmap to work with, and I can build on techniques and positions. The school I attend is great, and the instructor is a very intelligent and technical one! However, I prefer no gi, as I want to fight some more. (I've had three amateur bouts, I want to go semi pro MMA, that's my pipe dream, and I'm getting old, so I'd better hustle, lol!)

It's a somewhat liberal school, and we do no gi half of the time, which is great. Sooner or later though, someone's gonna pick up on that all my techniques are 10th planet stuff..! I'm not entirely sure they'll be ok with that.. I kinda put one of the instructors in a twister too, I didn't get it though, haha! (he moved his hip or something)

Anyway, what I wanted to say; using books or videos as technical help is a very powerful tool, and it works very well, but without rolling a couple of days each week, you won't have much of a real learning curve at all, it all becomes theory, and little else.

There's a lot of spelling errors in your post, so at first I thought it might be a trolljob, but then again we all have languages we're good at, and some we're not as good at.. It's a "Lotus-stretch", not a "locust" stretch, lol! If I were you Jiuclaw, I'd make stretching my "cozy" time. Stretch each day, make a cup of tea, and listen to music while doing it. Never stretch hard, just get into the feel of it and relax your muscles. Don't put too much stress on the knees, but focus on opening up the hips. The knees adapt slowly over time anyway, but you don't want to overdo it and make them weak. (don't overstretch your tendons)

Lastly; I'm a noob at this shit, but as I'm playing with rubber guard I'm gradually getting the impression that it is a very powerful tool! If you want better advice, the instructors on this fine site can give you some tips, I don't want to go above anyones head here, and I'm no expert, so I might be wrong about a couple of things.

I'm thinking about adding my last name too, as it is the rules and all, but I'm not sure how my instructor would feel about all of this. Kind of feels like I'm going behind his back or something.. Maybe I should just ask.. Just bought a gi, a black Datsusara gi, the new prototype, with a hemp Mon embroidered on the back! I'm bound to get busted, lol!
(And I look like a stoner to begin with, so I foresee some bumps in the road, and awkward situations, haha!) Datsusara gi an beard plaits. It's like putting up a flag..

Young Americans have shit for grammar. It's fairly embarrassing when non-native English speakers are far easier to comprehend. The worst part is these people seem to think it's cool or funny to be so stupid.

It's funny, because many kids don't understand how they sound to adults when they speak or even why an education is actually valued. The fact that a message board is a written medium only makes these differences more apparent. There's times when I can't tell if the person typing is either a 15 year old kid from Carlsbad, California or just a sociopathic 35 year old ex drug dealer from Eureka.
