I have to thank Jon Helton for the week I had training at his Charlotte, NC school. Really I need to give props to the whole Charlotte 10PJJ team.
I first came to Eddie's 6/18 seminar. The seminar definitely lived up to my expectations - it was a great time, positive, highly motivational & very informative. I was expecting that much based on what I've seen in the MTS series - but it was awesome to experience it for myself & a huge bonus to get the opportunity to participate in Jon's classes during the following week.
If you live anywhere near Charlotte do yourself a favor & come visit Jon's school. Everyone that I met there had a great attitude & skills to match. I feel like this is one of the things that has really stood out at the 10PJJ schools that I've visited so far. I got tapped plenty but I never had the feeling that anyone was trying to make a statement on the new guy (as I've experienced to varying degrees at some of the non-10PJJ schools that I've visited in the past). The other thing that has stood out is the awesome instruction. Jon is the man - he definitely has a knack for breaking down your game & giving you immediately useful techniques/corrections. He obviously didn't rack up all of those medals for nothing.
I also want to give props to Bobby for helping me drill a few take-downs (my weakest area) & giving some pointers on prepping for my 1st tourney. Good luck on the Imperial fight card in Sept. I'm planning to make it to Charlotte next around then so hopefully I can time it so that I'll be able to come watch you dole out some whoop-ass.
