LAY AND PRAY? WHAT ABOUT BUtT SCOOT?

Most people hate that wrestlers get their takedowns i mma and lay and pray. This is for good reason, because its boring. However i think its worse when top level jiu jitsu guys butt scoot in MMA. Dude the guys not following you, if you want the fight on the ground, take it to the ground.

I like the butt scoot.. "Get in my guard!"
The "Imanari roll" is better though.. Same strategy; "You won't hit me, and I'll get you in a leglock/guard."

If the opponent is already backing up, why not stand up, walk over there, and Imanari-roll into him? The position will be the same..

If you don't eat a knee on the way in that is, lol!

I don't see it as an issue, refs will stand the butt scooter up, if the other fighter wants the fight standing.

Yes, but then it was entertaining..! A guard is dangerous because of upkicks, sweeps, heelhooks, etc, but in Pride you could also get stomped on.. It was a position with a lot of action going on, going both ways. (If I remember correctly)
