I have had the same feeling in my knees when rolling with a guy in my class that outweighs me by 60-70 pounds. I simply try to avoid getting my feet inside when he's on top in my guard. Butterfly hooks get compressed to the point that they are still sore for days after we roll & that shit is no good. It seems like a gogo would be affected the same way, pulling a foot inside & having it jammed up like crazy due to the huge weight difference. In my case even closing my guard on this guy is a stretch due to his gut size - but certainly butterfly guard/RG progressions cause a lot of strain so I avoid the time I spend in those positions. Besdie, when you get a guy like that on his back, he's like a turtle - can't get the momentum to escape very easily because his weight is then working against him. So I try to stress staying on top (even though I often pull guard on others that I roll with).

Keep in mind that while it is great to roll with all body sizes/types but in the end it's not a big deal to minimize rolling with a guy like that - especially while a white belt. You'll never have someone close to that size in your division when you compete. Maybe if you ice your knees after you can minimize the swelling in your sore joints - that seemed to help some with the stiffness. Also someone that size can really cause my lower back to hurt when I get stacked aggressively - but I am usually able to prevent that by controlling his posture. If my back is hurt before we even roll - I'll just tell the guy that he needs to avoid stacking me & crushing down with all of his weight. It's not helping my training much but the pressure can hurt my ability to train properly the following week - not worth it!

just dont go for gogoplata's unless you have max flexibility, rubber guard is known for resulting in hurt knees.

if someones that bigger than you, and the go go is there, just get to the 'dead zone' then go for another submission to keep the roll going. rubber guard has mapped out almost every triangle setup so it's not like you couldnt do that.

comming from someone with hurt knees from a gogo also

Any attempt at an omoplata or gogoplata, while your hips are locked deep underneath your opponent, can potentially cause knee injury. Regardless of rubber guard or any other setup, injury tends to occur when people are out of position and incorrectly force their foot into position by laterally pulling their shin perpendicular to their thigh.
