Thanks for the comments guys. Though the whole "out the window" was just a figure of speech, I've taken about 6 months of classes in about 5 different martial arts over the years, just enough to really get the basics down then I would move on. Ive found that there is *always* something bad-ass tucked away in every martial art. I mean for the longest time I thought Tae Kwon Do was a waste of time, then I roomed with a kid who almost qualified for TKD in the Olympics. I would rib him that he got his blackbelt at a McDojo and he would admit most of TKD wasn't really effective in a street situation, it was around then that he showed me what a proper spinning back kick looks and feels like. I swear it was like I wasn't even holding the strike pad. I got folded in half and the wind knocked out of me.
So if Im really saying anything here, its that there is value in nearly everything if you look hard enough, its just up to you to pick it up and keep it in your arsenal. Hell, I still use some of my footwork from fencing.
