A Question about Bone (elbow) Cartilage

When i was a young buck and first started grappling, my favorite move was taken from Karo Parysian. When GSP has his back while standing and he locks a kimura and sits while using a butter fly to sweep and then hip rotation to get in to side control and attempt to finish the lock. Love it.

One time i tried it, lost grip of the arm and fell on my elbow.

That impact on thin mats caused the cartilage around the tip of my elbow to break and peel up a little. Over the years the flap of cartilage that is supposed to be stationary and cover my elbow has peeled back more. The exposed bone seems to be strong, not sore to rest on (but resting on it pushes on the cartilage. the flap can be moved back and forth with out pain and it is about half an inch wide.

What is likely to happen in this situation? Will the bare bone become soft and become my weakness. Is my elbow joint in any danger? Will it stop peeling back and heal?

no matter how experianced someone is in bjj, their word on this forum is not going to be better than a doctors. Don't fuck around with injuries, just get a check up and you'll know what the real deal is....

lol, medical advice is for doctors not the internet

bump. i ask the forums because there must be some one on here that has damaged their elbow while using they're elbow for striking, would this kind of impact evently cause cart. damage or a similar tear? and or will it just get tough like how the shin does from rolling the shin with a stick.
