You gotta remember that when the mainstream western population *especially in the USA,* there was an IMMENSE amount of mysticism and romanticism about the far eastern cultures ESPECIALLY with the introduction of martial arts to the main stream. As far as MMA has made massive strides in removing the "flowery bullshit" and putting the martial back into the martial arts for the mainstream population, there are still a large percentage of people who haven't been educated in the fact that most martial arts don't really work in an honest combat situation. These are the people who still believe in kiai wave disruption, dim mak, systema, and that something works simply because it is old *ie most kung fu styles, although kung fu isn't the only "old" martial art. So when they see the "oh wow a Systema Seminar!" they feel that perhaps they can tap into the mystic secret forces that make one an invincible warrior that can easily survive multiple attackers.
Or.....I could be 100% wrong...and dim mak, and kiai wave disruption DO work. And perhaps one day, someone will teach me how to use "the glow."
