an older guy at my first dojo gave private lessons for systema. From what i remember, it came from an old battle feild style with a short sword and small sheild. All blocks and attacks are swooping, as if the sword was in your hand. if you watch the first video again and imagine about a 2 or 3 foot blade in his hand while he punches you can see how it would be. it was pretty cool.

I've got a psyops staff sgt in Nigeria that contacted me with that info. I honestly couldn't tell you but he says the old people point and run while calling him that. Perhaps it's a dialect or something lol.
