This is also the 3rd time I have lost my military scholarship, each time it was for a 'worse' reason. I doubt I'll get it back, and after the things I have heard, and from my understanding, why would I even want to go into the military for our goverment after all the bullshit they deal back to us. my respect has slowly dwindled down, all military personell are expendble in one sort of way or another, and I thought this even before the trouble started, and the way all my military connections have left me in the dust only confirms my thoughts.

From all my friends (who are in iraq and afagan) their advice is that they only do it because they were naive at first, and only continue their current job to help those around them (as in making sure they keep their heads along with their friends) and all my reasons for wanting to join while I was in HS was just some guts and glory bullshit like the rest of the 18 year olds who signed up to be grunts.
Well it's def not for everyone, but you cant say 18 year olds who signed up did it for guts and glory. That said I agree, if you roll into an Army recruiting office when this bs clears up they will do anything to put you in. Recruiters have quotas, if they don't meet it they get in trouble simple as that. It makes them look good when they put a lot of people in the military. But i mean man even If you do 4 and out its a good experience in my opinion. GL with everything though...maybe you should just idk try to stay out of trouble?

@Kendall You would be surprised at how selective the Marines can be at times.

Yea, but after all this my point is that I do not feel like having to already re-do everything. Time to start anew a think...

I'm looking for an alternative path besides a military career now, that would be suited to someone with such skills I guess?

im 27, was recently medically retired from AFSOC.
they dont want haphazard records, but they do want smart people. with a 98, they will take you...just a matter of when.
well...depending on the severity of your charges I guess. But I just helped someone with GTA get in the Army... so its not impossible.

Honestly, i say dont do it, but thats my personal opinion. I had no 'guts and glory' ideas when I went in, I just needed to change up things. Figured going AFSOC would take away the BS...but no. The stories I have make everyone shutter.
It's def not for everyone. If you can follow command, I think its great sometimes. Me, i HATE people telling me what I HAVE to do.
Glad I did it, have amazing stories, incredible friendships and untouchable experience, but id never allow myself to join in the first place, if i had the ability. Fuck those BS wars that are for nothing but oil and money.

It really depends what your charges are, and how they happened in the first place. I feel like generally, if you can form a reasonable story that will make people understand how a good person ended up in a bad situation, you can talk your way around a lot of things like that. Make friends with a recruiter, write letters, and go do things that make your resume look better. Also, people who have current employment always appear more desirable to hire or recruit, even if it is just a temporary spot at a coffee shop. Then again, if you got pulled over with a BAC of .21 doing double the speed limit and swerving while driving the wrong direction up a one way, it's not going to seem understandable. And yes, I had a friend who did exactly that, who used to be ROTC.
