The cops were justified here. Those people giving out food had their hearts in the right place, but without a permit *which is EASY to obtain* they would not have been held accountable for food poisoning, have had any official food handling oversight which would protect the kids. Again, I totally would be on board to work a soup kitchen or a feed the kids community service event, but the cops here were doing the right thing since this requires a permit to do.
I understand your point, and the law, but it's more about having some trace of empathy.
Read up on the Orlando permits for that kind of thing, they are VERY limited.

It was the law one time that blacks and whites couldn't piss together,
does that make it right?
Obviously I can see the glaring difference in racism and arresting people
feeding the homeless - the point being that just because it's the law, that
doesn't make it all right, and that's a lame excuse to be a complete asshole.
