The lockdown is one my favorite positions because of the sweeps from it. However, now that my training partners are keen to it, I am having trouble keeping their leg in the lockdown, especially with excess perspiration.
If its no-gi then do no-gi dont bother with the ankle sleeves or what not cause then your just trying to get back to gi. But back to topic, keep under hooks tight avoid americanas but going back to FG if you slip up. People like going for guillotine's but then you get the old school sweep. to side control. keep your knees tights while in HG keep whipping that bitch. keep your opponent off balance and do your thing.

Ankle sleeves are the shit, they provide vital friction, and theyre allowed in no-gi jiu jitsu competitions so why not use them?
Keep a tight squeeze with your knees and as they try to get their leg out you can very slightly flare the shin across the calf muscle, the rest is as already said, hope this helps ya
