    Best 10th Planet school?

I really want to drop everything I'm doing right now and pursue MMA as a career. Right now I live in Southern Indiana and I know there's a school in Indy but I want to start out training with the best competition so i get better quicker as a result. I'm currently 23 and I've lost 75 pounds over the past year largely inspired by the words of Eddie and Joe Rogan. Since I decided I wanted to do this it's been a truely synchronistic experience with things just falling into place and right now I feel ready physically to start training. Recently I've had this urge to just quit doing this bullshit here and just go for it and pursue this dream in my head. So now I'm hoping that someone on here will respond with some genuine help in the way of information. If I can just get pointed in the right direction of a school and any employment opportunities in the area I will leave everything I know behind and take a chance with this thing. Any help would be appreciated!

you realize that its not that easy makeing MMA a full time, good paying job...it might take you years to work up from miner promotions up to fights that will pay the bils.

not trying to burst your bubble,go for it if its your dream but you might want to ask some of your local pro mma guys..i know about 4 and all of them still work full time jobs and tell me they have more invested in training, equipment etc etc that they ever won in prize money.

Get into a school with a decent squad of fighters and learn as much as you can. The fighters I know that havent made it to the big leagues all have jobs. Or trust funds.

Kid, I hate to burst your bubble, but that's probably not the best way to approach it. First, coming on the forum and looking for the "best" 10th Planet school is really sort of a skewed way of approaching it. EVERY 10th Planet school has something different to offer, with differing philosophies (in some ways) and different coaches with different levels of experience. Yes, going to HQ would be great, but what guarantee do you have? Really, the best thing to do is to start with someone close to you, and see if you mesh with that coach and their style. Hanging up everything and moving is well and good, but get a base first. Get some experience in tournies and MMA competition. Jumping the gun and moving when never having really trained may not be the best way.
Hit up 10th P Indy first and go from there. He'll give you an honest assessment and help you get your basics together.

I trained and fought with a guy (we were on the same team) in AZ and he has dedicated the last 2 years to doing the same thing...he is 10-1 as a pro right now (Heavy Weight) and is finding it hard to continue to support his family. He is giving himself another year to break thru to the UFC and then he is going to focus his efforts elsewhere. He is a devistating striker and has no fear. He was supposed to fight Scoutt Junk about 2 months ago (non-UFC venue) but the fight was dropped. His family has been a great support (wife and kids) - but its a rough business.

If you are young (which you are) and you dont have the outside stress of a wife and family....I say go for it brother. Now is the time...once you get older and start estblishing an family outside of fighting, it only gets harder....thats why I own a school now

Good luck, train hard, be real about where you can go and how fast you can progress and take your shot
