I have been on the Paleo diet for about three weeks and I feel fucking great. I have followed it about 90%. I did feel like shit for the first 4 or 5 days but since then only positive results. Anyone else experience the same?

Chris, Check out the book "Paleo Diet For Athletes". The author is a marathon runner and makes some slight modifications to the traditional Paleo diet for the intense nature of his training. I think it flows over to Jiu Jitsu and MMA training very well![]()
Voted the worst diet overall by the US News Rankings

while i do not recommend a strict adherence to the paleo diet... i will say the usnews is backed by the american heart association and american diabetes association who still push the largely false cholesterol hypothesis... so it should be no wonder the paleo diet is seen as unhealthy.
I've been on a modified version of the Paleo diet for 3 years, one of the best decisions I've made.

I try to keep an open mind but I remain pretty skeptical of the diet. If anyone can provide more than a youtube video or anecdotal reports I'd be willing to listen.
I know all these bad associations! Well where's this diets proof....where's its studies? I can tell you there's a big lack of studies on this diet!!! Don't be fooled here there's people making money on this diet too!!! Everybody's trying to grab the mighty dollars...this diet is no different than any other...its another fad diet. But if it helps you or somebody else eat better,, great!

yup no real studies directly on this diet... fad diet yes. and "experts" are everywhere. funny how that works, ive studied nutrition for 5 years and would never dream of calling myself anything like that.. seems the more i learn the more i find out how little i know and how little we truly know about nutrition).
DASH diet is ranked highly on that website for example... but actual studies show sodium restriction only lowers blood pressure by about 6-8 pts.. tell that to a hypertensive person eating super bland foods... Not to mention the rising studies finding correlation with grains and heart disease.. add to that the lack of conclusive studies on saturated fat and heart disease
however for those who do not believe in the lipid hypothesis.. the paleo diet provides a great foundation.
