    i miss jiu jitsu

    So heres my story.
i was taking some aikido classes. Then i got into jiu-jitsu and never looked back. Started training at gracie barra temecula with a great bunch of dudes and some cool chicks as well. I dont have money right now to pay an instructor but still want to train and keep learning. I almost recieved my blue belt at the studio i was at. I love jiu jitsu and hope, somehow, that this website and the people involved will come up with something i can do... a way i can continue my jiu-jitsu education and training. thanks guys.
    To eddie,
love, support, and respect what you do man. You are like a father to many im sure.

Jiu Jitsu is expensive, Judo is cheap. It might be less fun but it's still mat time and then you can throw people onto their heads.

There seems to be a non-proft Kodokan Judo club in Temecula http://www.tvjudo.com/

If I was dead broke in my town, I would probably be stopping into regional judo clubs, any free classes I could wrangle, and then meet up with the local wrestling club at the University every Sunday.

con a friend into doing it, and roll at home using techniques you know and others from youtube. Marcelo has great MG in action tech on youtube, Eddie, Scott, Bollinger, Alder etc have great stuff on there, Ari Bolden at Submissions 101 has great breakdowns, And definately check out Chris Herzog's weekly 10th Planet Rochester blog it's the shizz.
It's not the best option but if you're money challenged or live in a regional area like me it's a good way to stay sharp and develop your skill set.
If I didn't have my rolling buddy I'd never get to practice a large majority of the tech I want.
Hope everything works out for you.

Focus all your energy on getting a job. I know it sucks, but you have to. If you want Jiu Jitsu enough, you will make sure you find a job. If you can't train whilst working, no problem. Save up enough so you can train, and do home workouts and stretches.

See if any of your former training buddies would be down to roll at your house. Set up some sheets if you have carpets, wear gi/sweat pants and a rash guard, and go for it! When I was in between schools that's what I would do. I also found out that the local university had a grappling club that was free! I would go on campus when the club met, but I'd also sneak in and use the mats when nobody was using them.

On a diferent note, I know a bunch of ppl who train at an academy but don't pay a dime. They talk to the professor and tell them their situation. Usually they can work something out, like cleaning the mats (etc) and they'll let you train as long as you work your ass off. Christ at Legends is a great example of this.

    Hope this helps!
