    Tate vs Coenen/ Women's MMA

I just wanted to say that I have never been a huge fan of women's MMA, but the Meisha Tate vs Marlos Coenen fight tonight definitely was a big step in getting me to pay more attention when the lady's fight. I thought the fight was one of the more exciting fights on the undercard. Both women went at it, and displayed some high quality grappling and striking along the way. They kept up a faster pace than most of the men and continually were looking for finishes while many of the guys on the undercard seemed content to simply plod their way to a decision. I loved Tate's transition to the arm triangle at the end of the fight too. I was just curious if others here felt the same as me about the fight, and if Meisha Tate won any other fans tonight besides me?

Dude I knew the Womans fight would be the best fight other than Fedor Hendo, way before the show started, the lady's always put on a show when it's two skilled fighters. they just need more fighters with skills. womans mma fights have saved many strikforce cards, the good thing about technical sports is that skill knows no gender, & the lady's seem to fight with a little extra venom as well. Shot out to the lady killers

Awesome fight I agree. beautiful set up my Meisha Tate with the arm triangle/head arm choke. Beautiful job and awesome wrestling and heart surviving those two guillotines.

There are a handful of fighters like Tate and Coenen that represent the sport well... too bad Dana is going to release them after the showtime contract is up. Eventually we'll see them in Bellator or ProElite.

it was a great match. awesome finsih in a night of almost all decisions. but i'll never like seeing a woman get punched or catch a knee to the face.

hey if chicks want to fight, let them fight, i'd much rather watch two chicks go to war rather than squabble over petty ass shit like relationships, hair, & nails

i agree. all the way. one of my favorite movies is a league of their own. if women are going to squabble over bs, then give them a rifle and send them over seas. get them off my tv. if i was used to seeing women get beat up in fights then i don't think it would be an issue for me. i grew up watching boxing, pro wrestling, and karate. my reaction to men throwing haymakers and elbows at each other is different than watching a woman get dropped and bombed on with punches and knees. i'm not used to watching that. it makes me uncomfortable and it's not entertaining for me. i'd rather watch them grapple. but no strikes. i don't want to see them get cut or their eyes swell shut.
