I saw a video interview of Dana White in which he said he is convinced both MMA and Jiu Jitsu will both be olympic sports within 8 years. I hope he's right, it's about time. For now, enjoy the judo.

I really think it should be. If they have freestyle wrestling, greco-roman, judo and even taekwondo, they should have jiu jitsu. Hell they even have synchronized swimming in the olympics -.-

I don't know if the commity will allow MMA 2 B an olympic sport (but who am I) ? ? ? U never know I just think that ppl would think it 2 barbaric still but I would hope that if they let Jitz become a sport that they do not ban all holds and make things like leglocks and spine cranks illegle if U know what I'm sayin'

It will be a while before BJJ is an Olympic sport. There has to be black belt representatives from every country that participates and at this point BJJ is still trying to raise up black belt nationals from each country where there is a BJJ black belt running a school.

Not sure about MMA and how that would work with the pro status of most MMA fighters.

It wouldn't be hard to modify MMA rules so that it would be less dangerous and viable as an olympic sport. The only problem would be in drawing world class talent to put their bodies on the line for a medal and no pay day. More than likely, if Olympic MMA were to happen it would only emerge as a proving ground and resume builder for future fighters.

The olympics will be in Rio soon and they're not having Jiu Jitsu in that one. MMA wouldn't work for the Olympics. Just look at how boxing is right now... it would ruin MMA. I bet they'll get no-gi in the olympics before gi, though. It's more exciting and is more distinguishable from Judo.
