JJ and olympics ? ? ?

It wouldn't be hard to modify MMA rules so that it would be less dangerous and viable as an olympic sport. The only problem would be in drawing world class talent to put their bodies on the line for a medal and no pay day. More than likely, if Olympic MMA were to happen it would only emerge as a proving ground and resume builder for future fighters.

This is the American reality. Just look at the U.S. basketball team, we could easily win every year, but it isn't worth it to our best players. The Dream Team didn't care about that shit, they liked rolling people up for their country. I think some fighters though would love to represent in the Olympics. I could see the Olympic MMA team being a better representation of talent than the Olympic Basketball team.

I think I heard that Jiu Jitsu is going to be in the Olympics in Rio as a demonstration or something like that. Which I was told is how most sports become Olympic events, by a host country doing demonstrations.
But as it was said before, there has to be enough countries to have a competition, and that is some time in the distant future before it is represented by enough nations to be an Olympic event.
