    Dislocated my thumb?

Well i was messing around with my brother and he grabbed my thumb and kind of bent it foward and i heared a crack. I put ice on it and it swelled up, now it feels kind of stiff hurts a little and i could bend it but to an extent when it gets to a point i feel pain. I cant go to the ER because we would wait for like 3 hours so what do you think happened to my thumb?

Most of the time when you have a dislocated joint you have to put it back into place. It happened to my thumb not an awesome feeling... Go get it check. Usually I can crack my knuckles and thumbs but after my accident it took me 3 months to be able to crack my thumb. It felt fucking awesome when I finally did and my thumb wasn't stiff anymore. It's a really frustrating injury.
You can find online ways to tape your thumb so you can keep on training (it will still hurt like a bitch but it's better than not training at all)

go to one of those "emergi-care" places. they're quick and cheap and usually 24 hrs.

I don't think it is dislocated. I dislocated my toe a while back, and pretty easy to tell. Was sticking straight up in the air in a wierd direction that wasn't possible. Flobbed around like it wasn't attached to anything. My dad sat me down and popped it back in. Looked normal afterwards........but hurt like hell. Swelled up and bruised really bad.

My dad had a dislocated compound fracture of his thumb a couple years back. I still have nightmares about the way it looked....it was hidious.lol. Again no mistaking it for dislocated. He had the extra bonus of it being so dislocated it broke thru the skin. You could just look in and see it out of the joint.lol.

I think you may have a bad sprain or maybe a hairline fracture. A bad sprain when the tendons stretch can make a noise like a bone breaking. I wouldnt go sit in the ER all night, that would suck. If it is sprain or hairline fracture you can take care on your own. ICE ICE and more ICE. Remember its a fighters friend.lol. Take it easy with it for a while and keep iceing. Don't go pulling on it because I think its a bad sprain and that would only make it way worse.

    Hope this helps bro.

Just don't overdue it. Thats one of the advandages of us being young. Sprain can heal pretty fast if you don't push it to hard, and ice as much as possible. If got comp or something coming up and it still bothers you, should be able to tape it up to get you thru, but don't do it unless you have to.
