I'll be going this year and would love to say hello to any of you that might go. (You should PM me if you are going)
My advice is this, burning man is a party (the biggest in the world). There are lots of "activities" going on like yoga and seminars etc.., and that's ok... BUT so many people feel that in order to validate their experience they must come out and "do" what they "always do" to participate. Fuck that. I learned this the hard way. I do fitness and jiu-jitsu 51 weeks of the year. For one week I'm going to do NOT that. I plan to party my ass off and not think about anything else. It's a vacation, not the peace corps. Just come out for the experience, in and of itself (especially your first time). Leave your regular life behind for just 1 week and become yourself. It's more of a psychedelic experience rather than a production. I will however (if all goes well) be fighting in the Thunder Dome!
