It was only $4 so I figured, I can't lose. The only downside on the surface is that they heavily promote their "Thrive Supplements" throughout the book. I can overlook that and replace with supplements I use.

Has anyone else out there found any good books on being a vegan/vegetarian athlete?
The book you just got for $4 is a steal i own all Brenden Braziers books and the man knows his stuff, ill be meeting him here in NYC on Sept. 14th. ill also say that there is alot of promotion in their books for their VEGA line but the reason behind it is the stuff is great ive been using in like 6months and it has improved my training and ability to recover when not being able to get out and grab some food the meal replacement has been a great help with that, and the protien is great after a hard training session.

Robert Cheeke has a great book on Body Building which i know isnt what your looking for but the concepts and meal plans in that book are also pretty good.

Right on! I'll look into Robert Cheeke's book as well. I'm not opposed to vegan/vegetarian body building, I just lack the proper information to do it correctly. Thanks for the recommendation!

    Cool thread.

Even though I really like him, you can probably skip Cheeke's book if you have Brazier's if what you're looking for is nutrition info. Cheeke's book has cool ideas about promoting yourself as an athlete to advance animal rights, but I found it to be pretty light on information that would benefit a grappler.

Vega is in my opinion the most effective non-dairy protein supplement ever made. It's very expensive and has a taste that to be kind I'll say takes getting used to, but it dramatically improved my recovery when I was crazy into tearing myself up with Crossfit.

I watched it a couple of nights ago on netflix streaming. It's amazing how many people reversed or lowered their health risks by implementing a plant-based diet.

I'm vegetarian, I don't think I could ever go full vegan. At least it's a start in the right direction, health-wise.

I had originally started out cutting down on meat and eliminating red meat...here a little over a year later I'm vegan. Whether that is the goal or not just step by step and each step is better.
