Mike Dewitt is Oregon's 2011 Advanced and Absolute No-Gi Subleague Champion, the 2011 Advanced No-Gi Revolution Champion, and this year's DGSC Advanced and Absolute No-Gi Champion. He is an up-and-coming submission grappler under the 10th Planet System and a great competitor. He and I battled it out for 1st and 2nd during this year's Subleague (www.subleague.com). We drew our first two matches but he won the third with a Peruvian Necktie. Although losses suck Mike was a great competitor to lose to.

Principle: Control! Control is an important principle that must be over-emphasized. If you can't control your opponent, you cannot submit them. Here he demonstrates head control, underhook control, and hip control.

Technique: "Knee Slice" guard pass from opponent's open guard.
